Program Overview
The NSCC Adult Learning Center is an education and career exploration program that helps students who are at least 16 years old, and not currently enrolled in high school. The goals are for students to achieve their high school equivalency (HiSET or GED), and plan for their next steps on to college or professional career training. Students improve their academic, digital literacy, and professional skills with classes three days a week, from 9:30AM - 1:30PM. Students are enrolled in three levels of classes depending on their English reading skills at intake. There are three levels of classes on the Danvers campus, and one level on the Lynn campus. The classes prepare students in five distinct subject areas: Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science. In addition to the face to face classes, we offer a completely online Distance Learning Program with instructor support. Lastly, we offer an Integrated Education and Training Program in the IT field. This is open to students with or without a high school diploma. Volunteer tutors are needed to help students one on one, in small group settings, or remotely.
