Albuquerque Adult Learning Center, Inc. (ABQ-ALC)

Albuquerque Adult Learning Center, Inc., (dba ABQ-ALC), is a highly individualized program. ABQ-ALC helps you to get the education you need to progress in your educational or career pathway. Our services include English as a Second Language (ESL) Literacy, High School Equivalency (formerly GED), Solar Photovoltaic Fundamental, and other career readiness programs to help you move on to college or a job.

We foster an individual's desire for Education, Opportunity, and Independence.

FAQ’s: How much does this program cost? All of our services are completely FREE to all individuals age 16 and up! (For more FAQ's about our program, please see page 2 of our program Fact Sheet as attached)

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Christina: "I feel I've grown. I'm more knowledgeable." Christina is enrolled in CNM's nursing program.

Esperanza: "When you get the GED®, it's the best feeling you can ever get." Esperanza is enrolled at NMSU in Las Cruces where she plans on studying Criminology or Criminal Justice, with the hope of becoming an FBI agent.

Nina: "[Getting the GED®] has helped my confidence a lot and it will help get me more than a job; I'll get a career." Nina is enrolled in the veterinary technician program at CNM.

Raymund: "Janice [Pecos, his instructor] made me feel I could get my GED®, that I should never give up. When I said I couldn't do it, she pushed me." Raymund is enrolled at CNM where he plans to study plumbing.

Shelbi: "I'm proud of myself now. I have goals and the motivation to go to school now, to finally finish my education." Shelbi is enrolled at CNM and plans to be an Ultrasound Technician.

Virneshia: "[With a GED®] I can further my education. I can get a better job or go to a trade school...I feel I can do anything now...I'm much more confident." Virneshia is planning on being a Cosmetologist.
