Program Overview

The Adult Basic Education(ABE) program at ACM is a grant-funded program providing academic classes and other services to Maryland residents who do not have a high school diploma or who need a skills refresher for their jobs or continuing education. Students must be at least 17 years of age and not enrolled in public school.

Services include:
Assessment of academic skills

Classes at all levels, from basic skills through high school diploma preparation

Two programs to earn a MARYLAND High School Diploma

Family Literacy Programs

College & career transition services

Employment support services

Childcare available*

Classes held at convenient locations

Workplace readiness skills through the National Career Readiness Certificate curriculum (Career Ready 101)

Cost Info

Only costs are to pay for GED tests or NEDP enrollment. Student must qualify for these programs before fees are collected.
