Program Overview
English as a Second Language (ESL)
ACC's free ESL courses help non-native speakers learn basic English to support student goals for career advancement, college, High School Equivalency (HSE), and family and community. Students advance at their own pace through four levels of classes that teach writing, reading, listening, speaking, and pronunciation. Small class sizes and fun activities provide plenty of opportunities to practice what you learn.
High School Equivalency (HSE)
ACC provides free classes to help students earn a High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate — commonly known as a GED®. Classes are offered at various times and locations and are taught by instructors focused on your individual needs. Practice tests and study aids are available to boost your test-taking confidence.
College Prep
ACC's College Prep Program is a free 10- to 12-week program that helps students strengthen their academic skills and prepare for the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) college-readiness assessment. Participants also complete applications for financial aid and explore college and career options with the help of advisors. Current developmental education students are encouraged to apply.
Career Pathways
Adult Education Career Pathways programs combine learning, financial assistance, and support services to help you begin training for a rewarding career, even before you've earned your high school equivalency certificate.
