Student and Volunteer Success Stories

AVANCE Parent T. Herrera wrote: "My current and future goals as far as education is to be in the medical field. That's my main target and what I'm hoping to reach. I am very excited with the opportunity I was offered in getting my high school diploma. Never in a million years was that ever a thought in my mind being possible in doing. At this age and with me being behind as far as 9th grade being the last level completed, I just never really considered it possible. AVANCE helped me not only me but my family in many ways. It opened doors to my educational and financial life and a better life to move my family forward and not feeling stuck, show them it's possible. I know my whole family would be super proud of me because it's something they all truly want and believe, that education is important in life. I want to show my kids it is possible with them being my motivation and show my family I can to have a high school diploma and that I'm not the only one that will not have one anymore. So, I'm very excited, ready, and thankful for this opportunity."
