Program Overview

The Camp Verde Adult Reading Program's (CVARP) mission is to offer adults in the Camp Verde and adjacent Verde Valley communities the opportunity to achieve personal goals through improved basic reading, writing, math, technological and life skills.

CVARP has partnership agreements with the Town of Camp
Verde, the Arizona Supreme Court, and several Verde Valley 'Head Start' agencies to assist adults in the lowest socio-economic status. The Camp Verde Adult Reading Program contributes by providing free education services for adults seeking to improve their basic educational achievement levels, typically with the goal of earning their GED. Additionally CVARP provides free English language acquisition services (ELAA)
for adult immigrants seeking to learn English and as well as assisting many of them achieve citizenship.

CVARP provides literacy and numeracy services to adults
including 33 hours per week of mentoring, tutoring and instructional time from Arizona State certified adult education teachers as well as access to online educational resources for GED students in our Camp Verde site. The program also provides 12 hours per week of English Language Acquisition for
Adults (ELAA) classes in the Camp Verde area.

Letter of Support for Camp Verde Adult Reading Program

Friends at Camp Verde Adult Reading Program,

I just want to thank you again for helping me to get my General Equivalency Diploma. After being out of school for 40 years there is no way I could have achieved this without YOUR program. I found your entire faculty to be very encouraging, uplifting and eager to help in any way possible. I realized there were other programs that could help me achieve my goals however, they were not as user-friendly as CVARP. The thing I appreciated the most was being able to work the program at my own pace. In fact when life through me a few
curveballs and I thought I would have to quit the program temporarily, I was back within a few weeks and still ompleted the program 10 weeks earlier than expected with all your loving support. The graduation ceremony was 'the icing on the cake', giving me such a sense of accomplishment and inspiration to start college in the 2017 spring semester where I am pursuing my nursing degree.

I am elated to hear that you are now located in the Camp Verde library, in your previous location you were a well-kept secret. I'm sure CVARP will get the exposure needed to make your program flourish and continue to bless the socks off people who desire to improve their lives with the help of the CVARP angels.

Thank you all so much for helping me realize my dreams,

Angelina Lucio
