Program Overview
Reading and writing instruction for children in area schools. Volunteers are trained and supervised. Children are pre and post tested. Tutor pairs meet for one hour, twice weekly at established times and locations.

A boy in first grade was crying and distracted. It was finally revealed that the police had raided his home the night before and arrested his father. His tutor helped him write a letter to his father and the child left smiling.
