Program Overview
Summer camp at Cardinal Farrell Community Center serves 175 kindergarten through sixth grade campers each week.
Summer campers are offered breakfast, lunch and a snack. Our focus is preventing a summer slide where students can lose up to 30% of their reading skills achieved during the school year when they do not engage in reading activities during the summer months. In addition to building reading skills, the summer camp focuses on math, science as well as art projects. A large component of our summer camp is our partnership with the YMCA's water safety and swimming skills program. The summer camp experience also includes a field trip to the Perot Museum in downtown Dallas.
Cost Info
Parents are charged a small fee of $45 a week for 8 hours of care per day Monday through Friday. The cost translates to $1 an hour. Parents have the option for 10 hours of care per day through our extended care schedule for $55 a week at the same cost of $1 an hour. We give parents four months before summer camp starts to pay for their summer camp costs.Education services
