Program Overview
Daily Dose of Reading (DDR) improves literacy in children by empowering families through reading and language. It was founded in 1999 by pediatrician Dr. Shelly Senders, who offered his patients "Prescriptions to Read" to encourage family reading and language development activities for children. Early literacy programming was developed and has evolved to where we now emphasize program delivery to support pre-literacy language skill improvement. All of our programs seek to improve literacy in children by filling their surroundings with reading and language activities and materials.
