Program Overview

Desflo Family Literacy (DFL) - a division of Desflo - aims to eliminate family literacy issues. Family is a foundation for a child's future; Desflo strives to provide quality programs that benefit the entire family. Desflo is a mobile organization - please inquire via phone or email about locations of service.

DFL programs:

  • GAP - Generational Academic Progress (GAP) focuses on family literacy. Youth (7-17yrs.) and their parents are encouraged to participate in GAP to cultivate a culture of literacy advancement with both parent and child in the same setting. Children tend to pursue education when first-hand role models are engaged. We create a safe, supportive space for families to learn together and eliminate generational poverty.
  • LEARN - Leading Educational Advancement through Remediation and Networking (LEARN) assists adults (parents of youth within Desflo) with remedial literacy sessions, aiming to prepare attendees with the basics needed for post-secondary education/GED classes
