Program Overview
Children who are not successfully taught reading skills become adults who are functionally illiterate. Young adults who cannot read have limited earning options with poverty or crime as a common result. For these unfortunate individuals, and for the rest of society, these are costly alternatives.
The Reading & Rhythm Program is a powerful system that addresses the needs of struggling readers, which includes anxiety and negative internal thinking. It is the universal appeal of rhythm that makes Reading & Rhythm stand out among other reading strategies. The program provides methods that improve fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, phonics, word recognition and phonemic awareness. We use a simple but powerful assertive rhythm that diffuses the Doubtful Internal Voice™ and decreases anxiety, while creating a neural pathway in the brain for increased focus and concentration. We use tempo to speed up the neural networks in the brain. The program also instills 7 rules which help break bad reading habits. All participants are pre a nd post-tested.- Increases reading fluency and accuracy through the use of rhythm

Westport School - Interview with Teacher
ROBERTA: Sometimes the quiet children absorb this program like a sponge. Based on the steady improvement they’ve made this year, I know there will be a huge improvement in their scores when we have testing next week. I have so many distractions in my classroom and even the language of the program, words like “focus” and “concentration” have been very useful tools in getting the children to be able to work together.
