Duneland Early Learning HUB

Program Overview

The Duneland Early Learning HUB offers literacy based learning opportunities for families with children infant through 5 as they master developmental milestones and prepare for kindergarten. The HUB focuses on family engagement, offering activities for caregivers and children to engage in together, as well as caregiver education. Each child that attends our learning opportunities will leave with a free book for their home library. The HUB also invites local educators and community partners to read special stories for our virtual series "Trojan Tales"; families can watch together, comment on the story and be entered to win the book, signed by our guest reader.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

The HUB is a brand new program, having kicked off in February 2022. Enrollment has climbed steadily since November when advertising first began. There are approximately 50 families enrolled and registration for our classes fill up quickly. The HUB will begin offering weekly classes and will be working toward a plan for this summer and next school year to increase learning and literacy opportunities. Parent feedback after our first classes includes: "This was an amazing experience! I was very impressed by the teachers, resources, activities and facility. I wish this was everyday or at least every week." "This program was the best activity we have done since we moved to Chesterton. Thank you so much to Ms. Kitchel and Ms. Curtis for their thoughtful planning and expert facilitation! The whole morning was seamless and the stations were particularly inspired for this age group. We are looking forward to coming to more Trojan Tykes events and spreading the word about the HUB! I think this is the exact resource our community needed."
