Nicholas P. Sims Library is a Family Place Library. We offer services and programs for newborns to home-bound customers. Our schedule of early literacy programs for children is:

  • Tuesdays, 10am: La Hora del Cuento (Spanish/Bilingual Storytime)
  • Wednesdays, 10 & 11am: Toddler Time - Storytime for children ages 2-3 years. Songs, stories, and hands on crafts or activities.
  • Thursdays, 9:45am: Baby Bop - a program for caregiver and non-walking babies. We sing, play, and giggle!
  • Thursdays, 10:15am: Tot Spot - a program for children under the age of 2 that can walk. We sing, jump, dance, and make lots of noise! Also includes reading time with the caregiver.
  • Fridays, 10am: Story Hour - a program for ages 3-5 (PreK). Music, stories, movement, and crafts.
  • Parent-Child Workshops: Offered twice a year, please see our calendar for upcoming dates and times. This active workshop if for a caregiver with children under the age of 3. We play together and learn about child nutrition, child development, early literacy, social interaction, and more. Experts in the various fields of child care are on-sight for conversation, questions, and concerns you might have.
  • Summer Reading Challenge: Children, Teens, and adults can read through the months of June and July for their chance to win prizes! Even babies can win when their family read to them. Through out the summer, fun and engaging programs are provided to encourage discovery and promote reading.
