Easterseals' Adult Day Program

Program Overview

Easterseals' Adult Day Programs help adults with developmental disabilities live and work as independently as possible within their communities. Members have individualized experiences that could include: resume, application, and interview coaching; job search and job placement assistance; life skills training such as functional literacy, money management, daily living, and personal/social interactions; community immersion through volunteerism, using public transit and more. Our Digital Literacy programming includes use and instruction on digital cameras with editing on Adobe Photoshop as well as Cricut and 3D printing software and equipment in addition to learning the basics of technology and computers relevant to today's world. We have two locations in Florida, Naples and Palm Bay. We welcome volunteers who have a passion for working with adults with disabilities.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Sephra is one of our seasonal participants from Canada. Due to the pandemic she wasn't able to return to Florida for nearly two years. From day one she was excited to be back in her Florida program and has been so excited to learn new digital skills and technology. Sephra's journey from the start of using a digital camera to photo editing her own pictures was amazing to witness. When she first started using Adobe Photoshop, she was a bit intimidated. Now she is able to login and independently edit pictures she takes with the camera. She was recently recognized at the local "Additional Needs Art Show" for her photo "Ruellia" that she captured with one of our cameras and then edited using the water color feature in Photoshop.
