Program Overview

For a Real Change offers three programs that address literacy including My Sister is Succeeding (MySiS), Jonesville Academy, and Parent & Family Academy (PFA).

MySiS is an academically-engaging mentoring program designed for Black teen girls to script their path to success. The program focuses on advancing the writing and reading skills of teens in the Warren County, KY area. Youth from all backgrounds are welcome to register.

The Jonesville Academy program is designed for underrepresented minority males in grades 3-8 who accept the opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Scholars meet every other Saturday to learn subjects of reading and writing, STEM, and social studies.

The PFA provides a way for parents to learn strategies for working with their scholar's school and school system and to stay updated on decisions that may impact them. It also explores resources to work with the scholar at home (i.e. reading, writing, and hands-on learning activities).
