Program Overview
PARENTING EDUCATION
Forty Carrots' Parenting Program has been shaped by the belief that all parents – regardless of socioeconomic status, educational background, age or other factors – deserve access to information, education and support in order to do the best possible job raising their children.
From a teen parent who is struggling with the reality of motherhood to a couple trying to understand co-parenting and how to respond to challenging behaviors, Forty Carrots provides any willing family with the opportunity to become the family they desire. Forty Carrots' programming is facilitated by professionally trained Parenting Educators and Licensed Mental Health Therapists that travel through the community delivering a unique combination of parenting education, and mental health services.
Forty Carrots strives to make appropriate services available for all families. Fee based classes are available at the agency's Parenting Center. But an overwhelming majority of families receive parenting education and mental health services free of charge through the FREE Community Outreach Program.

"As a result of this class I am talking about things. I am thinking about life and how to deal with its lessons and opening up about dealing with my kids. Stuff happens and it's how you deal with it that makes you who you are."
"These groups are the best because, 1) It's free 2) It is the ONLY program in the area that offers a clean, child friendly education environment for all walks of life 3) The one on one time with the Parenting Educators is the best and the fact the Parenting Educators try to remember each individual that attends the group 4) This group confirmed what I was doing already at home."
"The best part of this group was being in a preschool setting without having to pay for school."
"I find myself wanting to create a time and space in our home with an invitation to play one on one, modeling the play structure of Forty Carrots. I also learned how to make homemade play dough and strategies to manage toddler emotions and empathy."
"Because of this group, I see play differently now. I make sure my children play every day and we sing and we read as well."
"This group has helped me implement more play time and using a range of activities to teach my child. I am also better understanding his development and emotions."
