Program Overview

Study Academic English at Georgia State University.

  • Classes offered once or twice a week (three hours of instruction on evenings or weekends) at Clarkston Georgia campus of GSU's Perimeter College.
  • Ten-week courses offer the opportunity to improve academic English skills.
  • Preparation for admission to Perimeter College of Georgia State University.
  • Classes meet in person (with online support through the CANVAS learning management system).
  • Academic reading and writing courses at various English proficiencies.
  • Small class sizes (usually 10-15 students).
  • Free assessment of English proficiency for best placement.
  • TOEFL is not needed.
  • Instructors have training and experience in preparing students for academic success.
  • We also have Introductory English for Daily Living Skills and free typing/technology workshops and classes.

Cost Info

GSU's Community English courses typically cost $250 per ten-week course, and there are matching grants (50% off) and full grants based on need.
