Goodwill Excel Center of Columbia

Program Overview

The Excel Centers of Missouri help folks age 21 and over earn a high school diploma. We are an accredited high school and you will be taught by certified teachers. We offer in-person classes, day and evening to accommodate your schedule. Classes are taught Monday through Thursday with tutoring hours on Friday. There is flexibility on how many classes you can take at a time. We offer 5 terms a year and teach curriculum at an accelerated pace. You will be paired with a Life Coach who will work with you to get any previous high school credits transferred in to our school. You will build on those credits until you reach the current standard for the state of Missouri, 24 credits. Your Life Coach will follow you through your education journey as an academic support. Once you get close to graduation, you will also have a Career and College Readiness counselor to help you career plan.

Our Columbia school is located in downtown location. You must be a resident of Missouri and 21 or over to attend.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Lawanna enrolled with our school Spring of 2021. At that time, she had recently made the decision to live a drug free life. She enrolled to fulfill her dream to become a high school graduate. While attending school, she had successes in and outside of the classroom. She graduated drug court and became a sponsor in her 12 steps program. She quickly became a leader at our school and dedicated to her learning. She graduated December 2022 with a 3.6 GPA. She is currently completing her certification to become a Peer Specialist to continue to help others in recovery.
