Student and Volunteer Success Stories

When Joel first enrolled in Goodwill's Youth Program, he was quiet and rarely engaged with others. He started GED classes and participated in Leadership Development activities. Joel successfully completed his HS diploma/GED and immediately started a work experience opportunity within Goodwill's Western Square Job Connection. While working within the Job
Connection, Joel started and successfully completed nursing assistant training.
During his enrollment, his interpersonal skills improved. He was able to develop relationships with other participants and started engaging with staff more actively and freely. Not only did Joel complete his basic education, he also gained job skills. Joel's primary goal is to become a Physical Therapist.
He is currently continuing his education at Greenville Technical College in order to gain an Associate's Degree. Joel has expressed appreciation to all staff members for their help and gratitude to Goodwill for the opportunity and support
