Program Overview

The mission of the Hastings Public Library is to enhance the quality of life for our community by providing personalized, open access to the world of information and ideas.

Everyone is welcome at the Hastings Public Library. If you live in Adams County library cards are free. The library is colorful, spacious and welcoming on all three levels. The main floor has the adult section, DVDs, 2 study rooms, 17 computer stations, 1 microfilm reader, 2 catalog kiosks, 3 self-checkout stations, and reference desk. The second floor is devoted to children, teens and our Spanish collection. There are 4 Awe Learning computers, 4 childrens computers, 5 teen computers, a toy nook, classroom and 2 large meeting rooms. The basement level houses the makerspace. It has a laser cutter, 2 3D printers, Cricuit, sewing maching, heat press, mug press, hat press, laminator, meeting space with a sound system and two green screens. Additionally, we have a Bookmobile that serves schools, daycares, senior living communities and public park stops.
