Program Overview

Twin City Outreach Mission provies a family learning software solution—Interactive Family Literacy—that includes comprehensive literacy products for both children and adults. The Family Learning Project (familylearningproject.org) is our nonprofit arm; its sole purpose is to raise money to enable community-based nonprofits to include family literacy programs. Interactive Family Literacy is a comprehensive literacy solution for children between the ages of three and six and their parents. The 5,000 learning activities develop all six components of literacy: (1) phonemic and phonological awareness, (2) decoding, (3) vocabulary development, (4) reading fluency, (5) reading comprehension, and (6) writing (through storytelling). It is dual language supporting both English and Spanish. It is an explicitly family learning solution, encouraging parents and caregivers to help children learn and providing structure and support for adults and children learning together.
