Program Overview

Interweave enables service and education organizations in the US and sixteen countries worldwide to move their members from poverty to prosperity through neighborhood self-reliance groups.

English for Business Success – Within U.S. self-reliance groups, Interweave provides language instruction to immigrants and refugees who seek to improve English skills needed to start and run a small informal or larger formal business. With a focus on vocabulary, phrases and conversations for entrepreneurs, the program helps groups not only learn English, but support each other in applying English to achieve their business and life goals.

The program is open to people of all languages and nationalities, but offers an additional resource for Arabic, Spanish, Kirundi and Swahili speakers with bi-lingual group instruction that includes local language orientation and support.

In addition to classes run by Interweave staff, we also help partner organizations form their own learning groups.
