Program Overview

Welcome to Joyce's House Education Center! We help people of all ages learn to read, write, and use computers better. Here's what we offer:

Who Can Attend?

  • Adults who want to improve reading, writing, and math skills.
  • People preparing for the GED test.
  • Parents and kids who want to learn together.

Services Provided:

  • Reading and writing classes.
  • GED preparation courses.
  • Family literacy activities.
  • Summer reading programs.
  • Basic computer and advanced digital skills classes.

Location and Additional Info:

  • Our main center is located at 5601 West North Avenue.
  • We also offer GED mobile testing that visits different counties in Wisconsin. *Must call to schedule at (414) 501-9003
  • Classes are free or low-cost.
  • Friendly and trained volunteers are here to help.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Woman 28 years old, recovering from addiction dropped out of school in 9th grade because she was struggling with school and life. After years of telling herself she couldn't obtain her GED she did so in early 2022. She is now 10 months sober and has a new career she loves! She took Joyce's House GED prep classes online and completed GED testing at our testing center!
