Program Overview

Kingdom Learning Center is a learning center that provides afterschool and summertime care for the children in Lancaster County. We assist children with homework, tutoring, studying habits and more as it relates to education. We provide STEM activities, along with one on one, group, and peer to peer tutoring sessions to assist K-8th graders improve their grades and reinforce classroom content. Our out of school time initiatives are designed to improve academic standing as well as decrease the need for Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Our processes have been proven successful as our students have been removed from their IEP's or their plans have been adjusted to reduce the need
for assistance.

Since 2020, when we began our out of school time learning program Kingdom Learning Center has worked with students from seven Elementary schools in Lancaster County. Our program assists students from ages 5–14-year-old.

We provide family literacy programs, in which the entire family can attend study sessions weekly focused on improved writing, reading and communication across
the family spectrum. We also educate our families on financial literacy, college admission, and parental leadership. As our families embrace effective communication within their dynamics, we can assist them on how to become better communications in the workplace and their communities at large.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

We have volunteers from our church that work with our children. Our volunteers believe it will take all of us to help our children and families succeed. The majority of our children come from single family homes, we try to make up for what our children may be missing. Whether it be a hot meal, clothing, a parent mentor or simply someone to listen. Recently one of our volunteers walked up on a little girl that was very emotional after leaving the rest room. The volunteer was able to pull the child aside for some quiet time to access what the concern was. Our volunteer was able to determine the little was upset because she felt as if her teacher was not listening to her nor did her teacher believe the things she was saying, as well as she felt as if she was being picked on by her teacher. Our volunteer took time aside for the girl to express her concerns, which immediately she began to feel better. After expressing herself she was ready to join the group activities for the day. We were able to speak with her father expressing her concerns and her father was able to speak with her teacher about his daughters perception.

After the father spoke with the teacher, he called us thanking us for taking an active role in his daughters life and allowing her the opportunity to express her concerns while sharing with her.
