Program Overview

The

LDA of Kentucky is the only agency in Louisville which specifically addresses
the needs of children and adults with learning disorders such as dyslexia, AD/HD, audio
processing disorder, and other specific learning disabilities. Our Community
Outreach and Support program aids parents who are concerned about the learning
issues they have noted with their children and who need help understanding
their child's condition and where to find the types of supports they need to
succeed in school and in work as they transition to adulthood. We host panel sessions throughout the year conducted by special
education teachers, clinical psychologists, and other practitioners to help
support parents as they in turn more effectively support their children. We also host virtual parent
peer-trainings sessions. We maintain a large inventory of materials on learning
disabilities, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia and related subjects. We
provide one-on-one counseling, tutoring and support via in person or remote access. An extensive
lending library and a video/audio rental service has been an excellent source
of detailed information and expertise.
