Student and Volunteer Success Stories

Hello: I am from Brazil and my first language is Portuguese. Without the help of the Lewis & Clark Literacy Council and my wonderful teachers, I may not have been able to adjust and do well in Helena. Learning English has made it possible to get my driver's license, enroll my daughter in school, get an apartment, get a job at Costco, buy a car, establish credit and getting my citizenship. Better English helps me at restaurants, travel, banks, doctor's offices, my work and for talking with my boyfriend. The L&C Literacy Council has changed my life!
