Long Beach School for Adults

Program Overview

With over 100 years of supporting Adult Education, LBSA, located at 3701 E. Willow in Long Beach, operates September - June with FREE classes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Enrollment is open through-out the year, with classes filling quickly. Call 562-595-8893 for an enrollment appointment.

Adult Basic Education, a foundational course for students reading below a 9th grade level to prepare them for HSD or HiSET.

High School Diploma, students take independent study classes, APEX courses, and participate in small group instruction to earn 150 credits for their HS Diploma.

(High School Equivalency Test) Students can either test immediately (5 total tests: reading, writing, math, history, & science) or enroll in our preparation lab and/or classes in math and writing. The program is flexible and is built around student needs.

Students learn English in Level 1-5 classes and participate in conversation, grammar, writing, and technology classes/workshops to boost language skills. Citizen Preparation workshops are also available.

Work force development classes in Custodial Services, Campus Security Assistant, Animal Care, and CNA (there is a fee for classes).
