Program Overview
Mar Vista Family Center is a privately funded community center in West LA that provides low-income families with quality early childhood education, youth enrichment programs, and educational tools to creative positive changes in the community. We serve individuals from infancy to senior citizens with a range of programming. Please visit our website for a more comprehensive view of our programming.
Our literacy programs include:
A pre-school program for children 3-5 years
After-school tutoring Monday through Thursday for children K-12 with an emphasis on literacy.
Computer Literacy Courses for Adults
English as a Second Language Class for Adults (Wednesday evenings)
Annual Literacy Fair for Families (April 14th)

Our Impact
Mar Vista Family Center has been transforming families and the community for over 40 years.
400 students are served annually through our programming.
81% of our youth program graduates enroll in post-secondary education.
120+ adults have received their certification in early childhood education through our on-site UCLA extension program.
In 2017, 160+ volunteers supported our programming with over 13,000 hours of service completed.
