Program Overview

Montebello Community Adult School equips students by providing career technical education pathways, English language learning, and HiSET (equivalent to GED) courses, so that they may thrive in their community and personal/ professional lives.

Montebello Community Adult School offers a fantastic high school equivalency diploma program (similar to the GED) with a standards-based curriculum that allows you to earn a WASC-accredited high school diploma as an adult. The program ensures that graduates acquire the critical academic skills necessary to continue their education and provides the student many more opportunities to achieve success in life.

MCAS uses the HiSET exam which is equivalent with the more commonly known GED. One of the reasons we use the HiSET is due to the more affordable exam fee for our students that yield the same end result. The HiSet preparation classes are free. When the student is ready to take their exam, HiSet charges $75 dollars for the exam (this is not an MCAS fee).
