Program Overview

Adult Education helps adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. Students participate in small group instruction, but have an individualized learning plan which is designed to help them identify and meet their goals and objectives. One of these objectives might be the completion of the Kansas State High School Diploma (GED).

Students will work on reading, writing, mathematics and problem solving through a variety of methods and "real life" scenarios. Students may choose to work on one or all of these skills. The General Education Diploma (GED) is a timed battery of four tests including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Reading/Language Arts. Students are required to complete the GED Ready battery of practice tests before being seated to take the actual GED test. Studenst who sccessfully complete the GED test will receive a Kansas State High School Equivalency Diploma.

Adult Education class enrollment fee is $35.00. The GED test fee is $39.00 per test (4 tests), the total for the test battery is $156.00. Testing fee does not have to be paid until the time of GED testing.
