Hello friends! My name is Kanat. I'm from Kyrgyzstan, a tiny country in Central Asia, surrounded by other "stan" countries. In the past we were the part of the Soviet Union, so I grew up speaking multiple languages. Since my childhood I've been always curious about the world diversity. My curiosity ultimately led me to graduate from university in my home country with a Master's degree in International Relations. However, with a lack of possibilities for professional growth in Kyrgyzstan, I urged myself to find a new path for my life. The helping hand came from New America College. They were a thousand miles away from me in another part of the world, yet it felt that these people really wanted to help me. I began a new era in the USA, a world of great possibilities and hopes that one could accomplish. NAC is ultimately where my new journey began.
