Amina, a Congolese Refugee has been coming to English classes at Nourish Bridgeport for 5 years. Although she has had to overcome many struggles, she smiles constantly and is raising 9 beautiful children. She enjoys coming to class and making friends but most of all she is learning English. She is very proud to say that she can introduce herself, say her birthday and ask others how they are doing. She teaches her own children to say the alphabet and count. She is beginning to spell and recognize words, especially the days of the week. I love it when she calls me to say Hi, how are you.
