Program Overview

Pleasanton Reads: Adult Literacy and ESL Services

Student Services

Pleasanton Reads is open to adult learners of English, both native-born and English-as-a-second language students aged 18 and older. Register to work with a tutor to practice reading, writing, and conversation skills. Drop-in ESL conversation practice groups and book clubs are also available.

Library services are free including book collections and digital study materials, meeting space, computers and wi-fi, print/fax/scan services, American culture and citizenship resources and more. Learners who are California residents can apply for a free library card.

Volunteer Opportunities

Literacy program volunteers provide one-on-one or small group tutoring once weekly for 90 minutes after completing a one-time training.
