WORK READY SKILLS & TRAINING
Community Outreach Training Services, Inc. is a module designed for veterans, under-skilled, unemployed, dislocated, undereducated, and displaced workers. We train individuals with the skills employers need, and match them to good jobs that need to be filled now.
Community Outreach Training Services, Inc. imparts relevant skills with job-market value to job seekers and more accountability for producing positive employment and earning outcomes to those they serve.
Professional Development
Professional Development is an 3 month training module designed to prepare participants for employment in a variety of clerical and customer service positions in today's technology-driven workplaces. The Professional Development module prepares participants to provide administrative support and customer service under the supervision of office managers, executive assistants, restaurant management, and other office personnel. Course includes telephone etiquette skills, typing, word processing, spreadsheets, document processing, filing, office procedures, customer service representation, and a business related electives.
WORK READY SKILLS & TRAINING
Basic Computer Skills is designed to train participants in a wide variety of basic computing skills. This basic instructional service introduces participants with minimal to no experience to the use of computers and introductory typing skills. This module prepares participants to intermediate computing and word processing.
Job Placement Assessment. Participants will complete a comprehensive curriculum for job search. This module includes completing the application, preparing award-winning resumes and cover letters, job search 101, setting up e-mail accounts, scheduling the interview, the follow-up after the interview, and dressing for success before the interview. This training module offers an opportunity for each participant to utilize work stations designed specifically for mock interviews and practice in a realistic environment. Soft skills will be emphasized during this training module, such as: time management, obtaining and maintaining employment, etc.
Stepping Stones Community Outreach Training Center, Inc. promotes a seamless progression from one educational stepping stone to another. We are the bridge that helps the individuals move easily from a level of little to no skills to employ. We believe they can have the opportunity to progress in their careers by obtaining new training and credentials.
We help them understand the importance of transitioning from one training program to Technical School, college, online education resources or job-based training.We help identify available apprenticeship programs or occupational training programs from basic education to post-secondary programs. It is all about the success of our students.
