Program Overview

Since 2009 more than 400 scholars from elementary, middle and high schools county-wide participated in the award winning Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools® Program hosted by SEED in both its Maryland and Michigan locations. The SEED/EXCEL Freedom Schools program, the first of the national program to be held in Prince George's County, provides summer enrichment through a model literacy curriculum that supports children and families through academic enrichment, parental involvement, social action, intergenerational leadership and nutrition and health.

Cost Info

The costs for Freedom School include, but are not limited to, books, personnel, training, travel, transportation, field trips, supplies and materials, activity fees.
