Program Overview

We provide parent-child Read and Rise Family Literacy Program across the 23 communities we serve. All programs are free for families, and are for children ages 0-8 yrs and their parent/guardian. Families who participate in our Read & Rise groups also receive a book at each session to help them build their at-home libraries. In addition to the Literacy focused groups we also provide general parent-child playgroups that always have a literacy component, and all work to increase each families at-home literacy skills and reinforce them as their child' first and most important teacher. We also provide Financial Literacy Parent-Child Playgroups, for children ages preschool-school age, called "Piggy Bankers". These programs introduce children to the basic's of money: Earning Money, Spending Money, and Saving Money. Parents are also provided resources and supports from our Banking partners on their finance and money questions.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"Greatly impacted my five year-olds is completely reading beyond her level and has been writing her full name and reciting the complete alphabet since she was two. Being a stay at home parent we went and registered for every program in three different libraries weekly for 4 years. Thank you." -Amy B., Parent, Whitman, MA
