Student and Volunteer Success Stories
B.B. had participated in numerous G.E.D. programs prior to coming to the Urban League of Rochester. She found it difficult to commit to the programs but was ready to try again. B.B. received her General Equivalency Diploma and went on to pursue criminal justice studies at Monroe Community College. "They really taught me how not to give up…I can honestly say I would not have gone to college if it wasn't for Urban League."
A.C. had also pursued education and job training in the past but was able to earn his diploma through the Urban League of Rochester. He also credits the ULR for encouraging personal growth and helping him find a job. "They're really there for you…they helped me, they kept me focused. I'm in school now. I'm going to be an anesthesiologist."
