Program Overview

The UIC Center for Literacy is committed to supporting DFSS Head Start sites in implementing the Parent, Family, Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework across Chicago. The center's FAmily STart (FAST) Learning and Support Program offers a dual-generation approach to addressing family well-being, strong relationships between parents and children, and ongoing learning and development for both parents and children. The program's model projects have proven to be successful in serving Head Start parents and families for over twenty years.
