Warren County Public Schools Mobile Outreach Education Initiative

Program Overview

This program is a mobile community outreach educational program which includes the operation of two buses: 1) Little Learners-Warren County bus which is a comprehensive mobile preschool classroom with various route stops all over Warren County, allowing for consistent free early learning instructional sessions on the bus to improve literacy across content for children, ages birth-age 5. Also included is on the bus is a family education component, where parents/guardians are actively engaged in learning how to be their children's best teacher in the home. Lesson modeling occurs on the bus, so that parents/guardians can effectively work with their children in their homes as the children work towards age-appropriate development milestones. Finally, free KSI screenings are offered on the bus and referrals to appropriate intervention services can be made and facilitated. 2) Leap Forward bus is a K-12 education tool offering routes all over Warren County, providing technology stations and wifi access for vulnerable populations with limited (or no) access to technology in the homes. K-12 instructional sessions and literacy development strategies will also be provided to close the learning gap among our most vulnerable student populations. In collaboration with Warren County Public Library, in the afternoon and evenings, adult education services will be provided including GED preparation, English speaking classes, and soft skill development (resume development, presentation skills, interview skills, etc.).
