Program Overview
Whiz Kids Oklahoma provides literacy tutoring to approximately 900 under-resourced students from the Oklahoma City area in grades 1-6 from six school districts: Crooked Oak, Crutchco, Mid-Del, Millwood, Oklahoma City and Putnam City. We partner with 70+ churches and coordinate more than 1,400 volunteers to provide students with a one-on-one tutoring and mentoring experience that helps them develop into confident readers who perform better at school and in life.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories
"Whiz Kids is a vital program in the life of our city...scores of inner-city children are being encouraged to read and progress in their education through the efforts of concerned mentors. Citizens from our suburban neighborhoods are interacting on a weekly basis with inner-city kids, and making a real difference."
Kirk Humphreys, Former OKC Mayor
